Notes from the road...........Sept. 23rd
24 Sep 2007

Sunday morning in Fort Saint John. Cold and rainy. Played the North Peace Cultural Centre last night to a packed house. What a great and enthusiastic audience. Just before I went on I was standing at the edge of the stage and I dropped my watch. I didn't know it at the time but it stopped working just as I walked on so I was unaware of the time while I was playing. I did realize while I was out there that it wasn't working so I had no idea how long I was singing for. Turns out I was on stage for three hours. It really didn't feel like that at all as I was having such a good time and nobody was complaining so I just kept going.
So today we're off to Alberta, Whitecourt that is. Another beautiful drive through some of the prettiest country this side of the Ottawa Valley (home for me, and where my heart is). So far it's been nothing but a wonderful time on the road except for missing my boys. But there's a price to pay for everything in this life. I'm still blessed that I get to do what I love doing for a living. Thanks for reading and....... Back at you in a bit…………Charlie

Notes from the road...... Sept. 19th
24 Sep 2007

I'm looking out the window of my hotel room in Valemount,BC where I'll be playing tomrrow night. We were going to stay elsewhere but I'm sure glad we didn't...The sun is going down over the mountains and the view is spectacular to say the least....it's a small town about 120 km west of Jasper, AB situated in a beautiful valley....We, my brother Chrys and I, started out in Langley,BC last Friday where I played for two nights at the Cascades Casino...nice room to play in and I got to see some old friends I haven't spoken to in a while...you know how it is, people go different ways and you lose touch a little along the way.....we had two days off and headed to Invermere, BC and played in a place called Buds Bar the name of which doesn't quite do it justice......It was a nice intimate setting for a solo performance and the crowd was warm and receptive....we got up this morning and drove through some of the most amazing scenery you may ever see....I was thinking as we were on the road and following part of the railway lines about the work that was done by countless pioneers that opened up this part of the world...it brought to mind the song by Gordon Lightfoot, The Great Canadian Railroad Trilogy, one of my favorites....give it a listen sometime and you'll get a feel for what it must have been like....Oh! yeah! for those of you back east in the heat there is snow out here....just a friendly reminder of what's soon to come...so I'll sign off for now and keep you posted as we make our way across the land until October 8th....for a list of dates where we'll be check out www.charliemajor.com or myspace.com/charliebmajor....

SUMMER ON THE WANE
24 Aug 2007

So let's see…..since my last update I had the pleasure of doing a show with Mike Holmes of Holmes on Homes in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Calgary…..May sound weird but it was a great event….a wonderful turnout on a sunny Saturday afternoon…and to hear Mike speak his beliefs with such passion was very inspirational….Kudos to all the folks at the Holmes Foundation and the Home Depot Team for making it a day to remember…..Then it was off to Geraldton, ON, which is up past Thunder Bay if your looking for it on your map, to a festival that is in it's thirteenth year…..we got to play with the Road Hammer's who are great and gracious bunch of folks….the crowd was lively and responsive despite the fact that it was a bit cold and the rain started to pour down as soon as we hit our last note…..The Hammer's had to delay going on but like real troopers they waited it out and played into the early morning hours to the faithful who stayed…too bad for those who left…….the week next we went all the way up to Manitoulin Island and played the first of what we can only hope will become an annual event in Little Current,ON…..started by Kelly (KT) and Craig Timmemans at 100.7 The Island it was a very professionally run event…thanks for the great time up on the Island…….got to hang out with Brad Johnner and my old friends Prairie Oyster who always put on a great display of musicianship….also got to spend the night with an old road mate Bert Brady and his family and a few friends …Bert used to work with us a few years back (he was one of the smart ones who finally went and got a day job) excellent road manager and soundman, we still miss you on the road Bert……since then it's been home trying to catch up on all the yard and house work that I haven't had time to do and hang out with my boys and a few friends I haven't seen in a while because of the crazy schedule…..I think I'm relaxed now……'til Monday when it starts all over again….

On another note……..to all of my friends on Myspace,  Facebook,  Youtube, Hi5 and Charliemajor.com who send me e-mails and write all the time I sure do appreciate your taking an on-going interest in my career ….but I must apologize for not writing back to each and everyone of you…..unlike many other celebrity sites I run  all these myself and it's just about impossible to keep up with…..if I tried to answer each and every letter I wouldn't have time for much else….like writing new songs and such…so please don't feel slighted or insulted if you don't hear back…..I am paying attention and am thankful for your support……..

And one last thing before these shortened days of August are done and the schooldays of September are upon us………The Canadian Country Music Awards' are coming up soon and I'm sure you're all aware that I didn't receive any major (get it!!) nominations……but that's alright…there's lots of great young deserving talent out there and at the end of the day I still get to do what I love for a living…..but a little known award I am nominated for is Publishing Company Of The Year…..and also a friend of mine is nominated for Album Graphics Of  The Year for the design of my last CD Shadows and Light……she took the cover photo and all the other pics in the CD……she has become somewhat of a local celebrity here in the Ottawa Valley…..She even made the front page of her hometown paper…..

The Dog Days Of Summer.....
31 Jul 2007

A time between the early days of July until the end of August when the hot and sultry weather drives one to put their feet up and take life a little more slowly….Not for us in the band…..On the contrary….In the past couple of months we’ve traveled across this great country and played shows in eight out of ten provinces….. Of the other two, Newfoundland and British Columbia,  we’ll be in BC in the fall and Nfld. Soon!!.............

Hey All...........
18 May 2007

Hey All……..summer’s Here!!!

I have perhaps been a little neglectful in keeping everyone up to date on all that’s been going on in and around my world this past while. My only defense on that point is that there seriously hasn’t been that much to report.

Oh! I suppose I could tell you about my trip to Vancouver in April where I crashed a wedding of people I didn’t know. Well I did know one person but I wasn’t on the invite list so I was a surprise guest. I didn’t do anything as outlandish as in the movie

like offer up a toast to the bride and groom whom I didn’t know. I did get to meet and talk to them for a bit and they seem to make a nice couple.

On my way back across the country I took the opportunity to stop off in Winnipeg to visit my aunt and cousin. Hung out there for a couple of days and had the pleasure of hosting the noon hour radio show at QX 104 with Karen Black…..and I somehow let slip with a word that you don’t hear on radio unless it’s the Sunday morning revival hour. Oh well! Shit happens.
